What cameras are compatible with the Piko surveillance system?
Piko is compatible with any ONVIF (Open Network Video Interface Forum) compliant camera and any RTSP (Real-Time Streaming Protocol) capable camera — which covers the vast majority of IP cameras from major manufacturers on the market today.
ONVIF compliance is the industry-standard interoperability certification for IP surveillance cameras. A camera that carries ONVIF certification will communicate with Piko using a standardized protocol, regardless of manufacturer. This open compatibility model is a deliberate design choice — Piko was built to work with existing camera infrastructure rather than requiring institutions to purchase specific camera brands to use the platform.
For institutions with existing IP camera installations, this means Piko can typically be deployed without replacing cameras — the software and platform change, but the physical hardware investment is preserved. For new installations, CSG can recommend camera configurations from a range of manufacturers that pair well with Piko's analytics and management capabilities. CSG can conduct a compatibility assessment if you have questions about your existing camera inventory.
